Support Small Business

As an old-fashioned gal who loves personal connections, I have a proclivity to shop local and small.

In the southwestern suburbs of Chicago there are a plethora of small businesses owned by talented and cultured people who make a customer feel like family.

Local, national and international folks who start businesses and bring a unique sense of their own life experience to the surrounding communities.   These artisans foster a sense of distinctive offerings from fashion to furnishings to food.

In the food category, in my community, there are so many cool places which provide a slice of somewhere else.  Nabuki restaurant for example partially owned by Chef Juan, is also an expert sushi master, considers his meal making a work of art.  Juan transforms raw into ravishing.  Nabuki of Hinsdale, Illinois is a modern Japanese and sushi restaurant with Latin flavors.  My favorite on the menu is the Stanley Cup sushi dish that Juan so brilliantly created after the Chicago Black Hawks won the Stanely Cup.  Its spectacular.

Another food favorite in Hinsdale is The Fruit Store.  This little store does big business with people close and far way.  The personality and face of the store is John Yurchek, who appears on Kefi Life the podcast this Thursday on all major platforms.

For generations the Fruit Store has been a staple for all ages of people who love to stop by quick and grab fresh produce, fruit a salad or a fruit basket.  John is great about spotlighting other small businesses by allowing them to sell their specialty items like candy apples, homemade hummus, salsa and so much more.

Yes, you guessed it, Kefi Life EVOO is for sale at The Fruit Store.  Make sure to grab some evoo to compliment the ripe and fresh produce you are selecting for your next meal.  Kefi Life extra virgin olive oil is a great gift for the discerning foodie who prefers health and taste in a bottle.

Friends, when shopping or dining, ponder the possibility of a local business which will give you a sense of individuality, original and natural service and products.

“Behind every small business there’s a person with a dream.”

Ola Kala, all is well,

Sending you Filakia-Kisses,

Kiki
