Stay Young — Plan Your Forever Trip
Research shows that embracing a sense of adventure and doing novel things keeps a person young and vibrant. Adventure breeds energy which enlivens the spirit. Let us take a trip.
First though, there Sam Altman shared a study which reports by the age of 21, you have lived half your life-perpetually. Our brain’s internal clock is dopaminergic: novel experiences slow time, routine accelerates it. This time warp means perceived age outpaces real age.
Do not waste time, let us get planning.
Begin with who is traveling in the trip and what are the interests of each?
Will you seek historical landmarks, beach towns, modern cities, or UNESCO sites? Will you visit a long lost relative and connect the familial bonds or will you make new connections?
Once you decide the “why” of the trip, you can then go ahead with the “how.”
HOW:
Start researching your destinations.
In all my years of travel, the best way to know the hot spots, is from word of mouth.
What do your friends and family say about the places you want to visit and experience?
Lean in on that information
Trip Advisor is an excellent source of information. The international reviews are reliable.
Social media pays bloggers and people to rate venues, restaurants, and events. Read the reviews. Notice any trends and follow the path to excitement from those.
Look at travel pages on TikTok, Reddit, Instagram and Google.
Research the hashtags on these pages
Use What’sApp, a free mobile service, to call internationally
Finally, create an excel sheet or shared note to keep track of all confirmations
Remember, you should have a starting point of travel but keep that childlike sense of wonder in your heart and be spontaneous. Enjoy the moment and the possibilities of joy.
On a side bar: When traveling, hydrate using electrolytes to keep you healthy and balance your fluids in the body.
