  • Steam white rice

  • Drizzle with EVOO

Kyriako says — “Olive oil plays a big role in how I structure my meals for training and recovery. Since I track my macros closely, I like to use extra virgin olive oil as my main fat source to help control blood sugar and improve digestion. For example, if I’m having a post-workout meal with chicken breast and rice, I’ll drizzle one to two tablespoons of olive oil on top of the rice. The healthy fats slow down the digestion of the rice, prevent a big blood sugar spike, and help shuttle those carbs toward muscle recovery and glycogen replenishment instead of storage.”
