Yiayia Bessie’s Hilopites

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken breast-as much as you want

  • 3 cups hilopites (that's what I used last week)

  • 1 whole yellow onion (chopped)

  • 3 tsp minced garlic

  • 1 can tomato sauce

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes

  • Kefi Life Extra Virgin Olive Oil

DIRECTIONS

  • Lightly brown chicken breast in olive oil

  • Pour into pot when done

  • Sauté onions & garlic

  • Pour into same pot as chicken

  • Pour tomato sauce/crushed tomatoes into pot

  • Fill with water until chicken/ingredients covered.

  • Simmer for 35 mins

  • Salt, pepper, cinnamon to taste

  • After 35 minutes of simmering, pour hilopites into pot.

  • Continue simmering for 10 mins.

  • Cover pot, turn off heat, let pot sit until hilopites are cooked to preference.

  • Serve & enjoy!

TIP: Keep tasting the sauce until it's seasoned to your liking with the salt, pepper, cinnamon. Remember to start low on spice & work yourself up.
